HOW TO PREPARE FOR EMERGENCIES

Home Fire Safety

Talk to family members about a fire escape plan. It is imperative that you practice your escape plan so that the household knows what to do. During a fire, make sure to get out, stay out, and call the Bureau of Fire Protection or 911 immediately.

Earthquake Safety

Drop, cover, and hold on until the shaking stops. Get out of any structure once the first shake is done and make sure that you have your family and your pets with you. It is also advisable to teach your children about earthquakes.

Typhoons

Always listen to weather updates. If a typhoon is about to make landfall, make sure that you prepare your household for the possibility of power outages. Keep canned goods and other food that will not go bad.

Flooding and Landslides

If your home is in an area where flooding and landslides always occur, it is best to evacuate immediately at the first sign of danger. This website has a list of evacuation centers per town.
