Pintô Art Museum through the efforts of its owner Dr. Joven Cuanang has transported several sculptures from different parts of the National Capital Region and nearby areas to Ilocos Norte for Dr. Cuanang’s marine life regeneration project. Pintô has been working closely with the Office of Congressman Angelo Marcos Barba for this particular project.

“The marine sculptures that will be submerged in Currimao’s waters on May 1st are now on display at Sitio Remedios,” wrote Mr. Barba on his official Facebook page. “Naragsakak la unay ta makita tayon daguiti napipintas nga sculptures sakbay nga maikabil da diay uneg ti danum. [ I am very happy that we can finally see the sculptures before they are sent underwater],” he added.

Both Mr. Barba and Dr. Cuanang grew up knowing that fresh fish always came from Currimao but decades of dynamite fishing destroyed the coral reefs in the area.

Mr. Barba, a staunch supporter of a number of environment-related house bills, is excited about the project with Pintô. He also congratulated the sculptors this morning for dedicating “their time and talent to give homes to Currimao’s marine life.”

The representative of Ilocos Norte’s Second District also thanked Dr. Cuanang for introducing the project to his office and for making said office a part of it.

Awan makaartap iti kinasayaat mo iti distrito ken probinsya tayo. Agyaman kami la unay. [ No one can rival your kindness to our district and to our province. We thank you profusely,]” he expressed in the vernacular.

When asked about the project, Dr. Cuanang said, “Everyone is invited to view the sculptures at the beachfront of Sitio Remedios!”
